Chat Feud

Chat Feud

A question like "Name something people lose all the time", with seven or eight hidden answers ranked by how common they are. Your chat types answers, and every turn the answer most of chat typed is played: right flips its tile, wrong is a strike. Three strikes end the board. Play it as chat against the board, or answer first yourself and let chat try to steal your points.

How a round works

  1. 1

    A board comes up

One question and seven or eight covered answers, the most common one on top.

  2. 2

    Chat types an answer

Plain words, no command. Your last answer counts, and typos, plurals and a short "i think keys" are fine.

  3. 3

    The top answer is played

When the turn timer runs out, the answer most of chat typed is played. Right flips the tile, and everyone who typed it scores its points. Wrong, or no answer at all, is a strike.

  4. 4

    Three strikes

The board ends after three strikes or when every tile is found. The missing answers are shown, and the next board comes up.

  5. 5

    Streamer mode: the steal

You type your answers on the dashboard until you strike three times. Then chat gets one answer to steal everything you banked on this board.

What viewers type in chat

keysYour answer, in plain words. Your last answer counts until it is played.
!howtoAsk the bot to post the rules in chat.
!feudMods: open the setup.
!mode streamerMods: coop (chat vs the board) or streamer (you answer first, chat steals).
!survey onMods: chat builds each board from its own answers first.

Streamer settings

  • Two ways to play

Chat vs the board: chat answers together and scores as one. Streamer vs chat: you answer first, and after three strikes chat can steal your points.

  • Chat makes the board

With this on, chat first answers the question freely. Answers that at least two chatters gave become the tiles, up to eight, worth their share of all answers. Then chat plays the board it built.

  • 150 boards in each language

English, German, Spanish, Portuguese and French, each written for its own chats, not translated, with everyday and streaming questions. The answers and their order are our own estimate of what is common, not a survey of real people.

  • Forgiving matching

Capital letters, accents, typos, plurals and filler words do not matter, so "my keys" and "key" both find Keys.

Questions streamers ask

Do viewers need to join?

No. Anyone who types an answer is playing, and there is no player limit.

Which answer gets played?

The one most chatters are standing on when the timer runs out. Each viewer has one answer, and typing again replaces it. On a tie, the answer typed first wins.

Were real people surveyed?

Not for the built-in boards: they are our own ranking of common answers. With "Chat makes the board" on, the board comes from your own chat's answers.

How many boards, and how long?

1 to 10 boards, 5 by default, with 10 to 60 seconds per turn (20 by default). Mods set them with !rounds and !timer, and !pause stops the clock.

Which languages are there?

English, German, Spanish, Portuguese and French, each with its own questions and answers. A mod switches with !words en, de, es, pt or fr; otherwise the dashboard language is used.
