Chat Brawl

Chat Brawl

Every chatter who types !join gets a little fighter in the arena, a grid of 6 by 4 squares. They steer it from chat through a match of short mini games: grab coins, hold the hill, dodge falling crates, stay off the cracking ice and run from the Giant. Each round pays points by place, and the most points after the last round wins.

How a round works

  1. 1

    Chat joins

Viewers type !join and get a fighter. Up to 150 fit in the arena, and latecomers come in with the next round.

  2. 2

    Steer with squares

Type a square like B3 and your fighter walks there and stops. Or type w, a, s or d: each letter walks one square, so wwa is two up and one left, and x stops.

  3. 3

    A mini game per round

Coin Rush, King of the Hill, Crate Drop, Thin Ice and The Giant, shuffled so each comes up once before any repeats. A rules card shows before every round.

  4. 4

    Danger is marked first

Crates, cracks and the next hill are marked on the floor before they happen, so chat has time to react through stream delay.

  5. 5

    Points by place

Every round pays 10, 8, 6, 5, 4, 3 and 2 points for the top seven places and 1 point for the rest. The most points after the last round wins the match.

Questions streamers ask

How many can play?

Up to 150 fighters in one arena. The next one to join is told the arena is full.

How do I steer my fighter?

Type a square like B3: your fighter walks there and stops. Or type w, a, s or d to walk one square a letter (wwa: two up, one left), and x to stop. The whole message must be the command.

What if I join late?

You come in with the next round. Joining while a rules card is up puts you in right away.

How are points given?

10, 8, 6, 5, 4, 3 and 2 for the top seven places of each round, then 1 for everyone else who placed. In Coin Rush and King of the Hill you place with at least one coin or a moment on the hill. In the survival rounds, everyone still standing at the end shares first place.

Does the streamer have to play the Giant?

No. Switch it off in the menu, or a mod types !playalong off, and a bot plays the Giant.
